Kindergarten Graduate!

Monday was Kylie's last 'official' day of school.  They just had a Splash Day, so she had lots of fun!

Tuesday was her graduation day, and I felt so bad!  The tiny auditorium was overflowing and we were stuck in back, so I didn't get a decent picture of her at all.  They sang a bunch of cute songs, and then we went to their classroom for the awards.

If the auditorium was bad, then the classroom was way worse.  They had the kids in a little kiva in the corner of the room, and since it was stairs going DOWN, no one beyond the first surrounding parents saw anything, even though the room was packed.  So once again I was not able to get a picture of Kylie getting her 'diploma' from her teacher.  I was kinda ticked.  But oh well.  I don't think Kylie even knew Hayden and I were there until the end when she came to find us!  At least she let me take a few pictures outside!

To celebrate we went swimming!  Yay!  There will be LOTS of swimming this summer!

The rest of the week was getting settled into our summer routine... swimming, playing and getting on each other's nerves! Yay!  Wednesday we went to the mall to play with Sophia and Riley.  We rode the train and played in the tiny play areas.

Thursday we had a playdate with Kennedy and Acadia at the Dinosaur Park and had lots of fun in the sun and water and riding the train there.  Hayden requested his picture taken in this dinosaur egg:

The rest of the week was spent swimming and then hiding out from the sun because I think we got too much sun the past few days.

Mother's Day!

Well, I enjoyed my Mother's Day.  The kids made me cards in church and Kylie made me a special book.  Apparently I like to exercise a lot and enjoy fishing (?) as well as being very silly.  I love it.  I had to give my very first talk in church today.  I had escaped that particular chore for over 15 years and I ran out of excuses!  Luckily, Aunt Chantel, Uncle McKay, Aunt Kendra and Uncle Jake came and sat with Kylie and Hayden while I was sitting up front.  (The bishop offered to have the kids sit with me up there, but that was a big NOPE!)  Apparently Hayden was having a hard time and this is how he fell asleep:

After my lovely short talk the primary kids came up to sing and I got a big hug from Kylie while she was up there!  After sacrament the Aunts and Uncles had to leave and I got to teach my primary class.  (Can't catch a break!)

The rest of the week was no school, due to Kindergarten testing.  Kylie had her test, or assessment, on Monday morning and she rocked it.  It was nice to get it out of the way first while she still remembered things versus later in the week.

We spent the week swimming, playing with friends, going to parks, and even a birthday party!  Kylie's friend from school had her party at the Dinosaur Park and while it was kinda windy and rainy, the kids still had tons of fun.

Later that night Aunt Chantel and Uncle McKay came to babysit while I went to the required Divorce Class.  I was bored there, but Chantel kept me updated via Snapchat of all their shenanigans- like Hayden wanting milk in his lettuce topped with ranch and salt and pepper.

On Saturday Brandon took the kids for a sleepover and they were so excited.  He had just moved to a new house that was fully furnished and had bunk beds in one of the rooms.  He is closer now, too, which makes the drive over much nicer.

Making the Dean's List

The swimming has started for the season!  Swimming is the best summer activity.

Hayden got sick Tuesday.  A sore throat that radiated to his ear.  Luckily no one else got it, but he was miserable for a few days.  I was miserable trying to get him to take some medicine for it!

Kylie has only been wearing dresses lately.  She loves to get all dressed up and do her hair and nails and wear jewelry!  Such fun times!

On Friday Kylie got to be in a special assembly for her school - she was getting an award for being on the 'Dean's List' for her school!  She excelled at reading this year and that is why she received the award.  She got to walk through the W and got a certificate.

On Saturday we got together with Uncle McKay, Aunt Chantel, Uncle Jake and Aunt Kendra for a BBQ and playing at a park!  It was lots of fun to visit with everyone and enjoy yummy food!
