We did have a lot of fun this week, though I didn't take many pictures to prove it! We had fun playing outside and rolling around in all the dirt, playing with Sophia, and Kylie loves to do her flashcard now, with all the numbers, shapes, and letters on them. She knows practically all of them!
Kylie also loves to paint with me and loves to draw people now. In fact she drew one picture with four people of various sizes, and she told me "This is Daddy" (pointing to the largest), "This is Mommy" (second largest), "This is Hayden" (smallest), "This is Kylie!" (second smallest). It was sooo cute that she drew our family and did sizes and told me exactly who was who. I love this new stage of learning she is getting into. That picture is definitely going in the scrapbook!!
Hayden's new thing is watching Big Hero 6. ALL the time. He is always finding my phone or tablet and watching it on that if I don't have it one the television. It is crazy how much he loves that movie. He is also learning new things - says "dada" when Brandon comes into the room, "dog" for dogs, and he even called me "mama" once!! He also is trying to walk down the stairs alone (scary!) and is also done nursing!!! It has been over a week since he last nursed and is no longer asking for it so I am soooooooo happy!! He only wakes up once a night for a diaper change and to find his pacifier, so I no longer feel like zombie mom everyday.
Wednesday night it started getting stormy and we've had stormy weather persist throughout the week. Kylie saw the rain and got her umbrella out and was very excited to use it.
Though if we didn't go outside she quickly found other uses for it. Like a boat.
Saturday I let the kids play in the sink - something I don't do very often because of the clean up involved. But they love it!
Later that day we got to visit with Aunt Kendra, who was in town to run the half marathon. We loved having her over!
Today (Sunday) started off well enough. Kylie was excited for church and primary, only when the time came for Primary she didn't want to go in for some reason. At first she said she was hungry, so she ate a granola bar and while she was eating I left to take Hayden to nursery. He still has a month before he is 18 months, so I am taking him in and staying with him to get him used to it. Well, just as he was having fun and playing with the other kids, Brandon comes to say that Kylie is throwing the tantrums of all tantrums and he was taking her home. So Hayden and I came home with them (so they didn't have to come back and pick us up.) I am guessing that Kylie was having a problem with Primary today (from what Brandon said happened) because another girl was sitting in her normal chair. Usually we are the first in the room so Kylie sits in the same place every time, and she is a huge stickler for keeping everything the same, so when the other girl didn't move Kylie just had a meltdown. I am guessing thats what is going on when Brandon said she tried to sit in someone else's seat. Poor thing. Hopefully things will go better next week. Hayden was sure loving nursery!

Summer is Starting!
Monday on a whim I decided to pack up the kids and go play at the St. George Town Square in the water. We all had too much fun. Kylie is old enough to just go off on her own and play (as long as I can see her), and Hayden wanted to hold my hand almost the whole time.
We also got to play in the fountains for a little bit. Hayden was not too interested, and Kylie said the water was too cold.
Tuesday we went on a walk with Sophia and Kylie was so cute with her and held her hand a lot.
Wednesday we got a visit from Grandpa Pete on his way back home from Vegas! He actually had stopped by on his way to Vegas on Sunday night and had dinner with us as well. It was fun to see him again and Kylie liked spouting incoherent sentences to him.
We also did a lot of painting this week. Kylie has rediscovered her painting books and Hayden likes joining her.
So for the past week and a half Hayden has been phasing out one of his naps. Usually it is his afternoon nap. But I would really rather he kept that one and phased out his morning one. So I have been trying to keep him up until about 1 or 2 in the afternoon. Sometimes it works, and sometimes he has his morning nap at the regular time. On Friday it seemed like he would make it until the afternoon for his nap until he crashed at lunch time. Eating lunch. Which is so abnormal for him. Both Hayden and Kylie don't like to fall asleep in odd spots. They really like their beds, carseats, and sometimes Kylie will crash on the couch. It was the cutest thing, but quite the challenge to clean all that peanut butter off him while he slept.
Later that night we went over to Dixie University where they were having a free carnival to celebrate D Week. They had bounce houses and and game booths and free food. It was fun, but Hayden wanted to get down and run around like a crazy man which he couldn't do with all the people there. I was so impressed by Kylie and how patient she has gotten, especially waiting in lines! It made me so happy.
This next video of Kylie was too long so I had to break it in two - so it over laps a bit on the second one - but it is her doing a bouncy obstacle course which she loved!
Kylie loves to draw people now (and question marks), and I once caught her with a little person she drew on her hand. I was upset that she drew on herself, but it was so cute at the same time!
She also knows how to blow up a balloon by herself!! My little girls is learning new things every day!!
Oh, also I am pretty sure Hayden can say 'dog' now. He definitely says a short "D" word when dogs are nearby or he can hear them.

Grandma Shari Comes to Play!
On Wednesday this week Grandma Shari and Uncle Jordan came down for a few days! We love having family over and the kids get so excited. Grandma Shari brought them a few things and one of Hayden's favorites were the books. Kylie also got a pretty dress!
Uncle Jordan spent most of the time with Brandon working with him at his office. The rest of us spent the day playing at home, with a brief excursion to the library. That evening we went out to dinner and then to play at Fiesta Fun. The kids love playing the arcade games there. Kylie is actually very good at the games of chance, while Hayden was terrible at them. But we all had tons of fun and won tons of tickets!
On Thursday we had fun reading books for a while. And had a little dance party.
That afternoon we went to play at a park and have some outside time! Then we went to Costco before heading back home.
Friday was Grandma Shari and Uncle Jordan's last day. They spent the morning with us before they had to head back home. The kids maximized their Grandma time by both sitting on her lap at the same time.
We were sad to see them go but we had so much fun with Grandma Shari while she was here.
So Kylie has been eating lots of bread lately - but she never eats the crusts. So I finally decided to save all the crusts and then go feed the ducks when we had enough bread. That time came fairly quickly and on Friday afternoon we went to feed the ducks! Kylie knew what was up, but this was Hayden's first time and he was over the moon. We had tons of fun!!
Our weekend was pretty boring. Brandon was sick so we didn't do much of anything! One interesting thing happened though - on Saturday night, about 3 AM (so I guess Sunday morning??), Kylie ended up in our bed. She hasn't woken up in the middle of the night in ages! I went to try and put her back in bed and she was talking about a "scary spider" in her bed. After throwing back all her sheets and finding nothing I put her back in her bed, only to have her crawl back in bed with me five minutes later for the rest of the night. Lets hope this doesn't stick...

Easter
Busy busy busy!! I feel like we have been running around all week long!
Monday evening we did the Duckie Drop at the community center. It was a lot of fun! While walking in we ran into the Easter Bunny which Kylie did not enjoy.
Then we swam for an hour until the Duckie Drop started. Everyone had to get out of the pool because they did it by age groups. Hayden went first and it was nice because we just had to wait our turn and then they sent his duckie down the slide for him to get. There was no hesitation about whether or not he wanted that duck! Then he got a grab bag!
Next was Kylie's age group which was a little crazier. Brandon took her into the madness of duckies dropped from the huge bucket on top of the kids area and then we stood in a huge line to get her prize which was a star ring floatie! She will sure enjoy that this summer at the pool!
On Wednesday we got together with Sophia and her mom to dye some eggs! Angela and I decided to try something we found on Pinterest: whip cream dyed eggs. Lets just say it was a massive fail! Hahaha. At first only Hayden was willing to swirl around the eggs in the whip cream and food coloring. It was too messy for Sophia and Kylie to want to join. Then Hayden just ended up taking handfuls and eating it.
We finally gave the girls a spoon and then they would swirl the eggs around. Also, everyone was stripped down. Because, you know, mess.
In the end the whip cream/food coloring experiment didn't work in the least and we ended up dying them like normal. Oh well! At least we tried something new!!
Thursday we took a walk in the evening and Kylie enjoyed making our shadows interact with each other.
Friday we had a birthday party for a boy on our street called Spencer. They had just moved here and he is in her Sunbeam class, so they don't know many people yet. Kylie and Hayden were the only other kids there outside of Spencer and his little sister Allie. Practically every birthday party I have been to for Kylie's friends it turns out to be just us and then their family. Always awkward. For me at least. Kylie doesn't care. There are presents! And games! And cake! She was quite the entertainer and everyone just loved her!

Also that night our house got "egged" by the ward. Our door was covered with paper eggs and they had hid 12 eggs in our front "yard" that the kids had fun finding! It was a nice surprise.

It was a super cute Peter Pan-themed party. Hayden got a Peter Pan hat, but of course he didn't keep it on. He did enjoy wearing Kylie's Tinker Bell wings, though!
Saturday morning we had our neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt!! We arrived a little early which I wanted to do, that way the kids could play on the playground for a bit and not be distracted when it was time for the egg hunt.
Hayden did fairly well- of course focusing on opening the candy and eggs immediately upon finding.
Kylie did really well and found lots of eggs and candy!
Saturday evening we went out to play and Kylie was Super Klutz. She tripped and scraped up her elbows, and then ten minutes later tripped again and majorly scraped her elbows again as well as her knees. So we came inside and to cheer her up we opened up the packages that Grandma Tess sent her and Hayden. They got a little bunny that Grandma Tess had made as well as some socks! The bunny made Kylie so happy and she didn't let go of it for the rest of the night.
Then came Sunday, and EASTER! Had we had enough egg hunts? NO! Had we had enough candy? NO! Although, luckily, the Easter Bunny was kind enough to visit our house after lunch so candy wouldn't be the only thing the kids ate today!
Kylie loved seeing everything she got and finding eggs. Hayden loved opening eggs and stuffing his face. Yup. Typical!
What a fun Easter Week!!
