Rainy Days

This week started out fun and sunny.  We took a couple walks and went to a park to play one day.  Kylie found a pair of glasses and had fun playing with them.

The rest of the week was rather dismal with the rain, and Kylie developed a tooth ache and hasn't been too happy.  We took her into a dentist on Thursday and it looks like she needs a LOT of work done.  So she goes back in Monday to get some work done and hopefully fix the pain for now.  So the last part of the week we played inside and tried to have some fun together!

One thing that kept the kids happy was having a car seat inside for a few days.  There were a lot of fights over who would sit in the seat...

Energetic Kidlets

All this week we played and played and played.  We had friends over and we went on walks and tore the house apart.  Typical week!

Hayden likes to pull all the bowls out of my bottom drawer, and one day he was just adamant that he get inside the drawer.  So I let him sit in it and he was super happy!

Then came the real reason Hayden just HAD to be in the drawer:  our cat had somehow crawled behind the drawer and was hiding.

On Thursday night Hayden has his first ever ice cream cone.  He proceeded to smash it into smithereens and then dip the cone into the ice cream.  He is a big fan of dipping things right now.  He loves to have a Ranch dip or ketchup dip with his meals.

On Saturday Brandon had to go into work, so I packed a picnic and we picked him up for lunch at the park.  It was a gorgeous day and Kylie and Hayden did a lot of playing and very little eating.  Hayden's favorite thing is going down the slides!

Unfortunately, Brandon had to go back to work before the kids were done playing, so they were pretty upset.  To make them feel better I stopped at the school by our house and we played on their playground until they were good and worn out.

Somehow I didn't get any pictures of Kylie this week, but don't worry, she was still her cute little self!!

Oh, and our ward got split this week as well, so it looks like Kylie will  have all new primary teachers to get used to (and she just loved her old ones! :( )

Mommy's Little Helpers

What a fun week we have had!  While Kylie and Hayden are good fighters, they are also really good at playing with one another!  It is so fun to see them interact with each other.

The weather was a bit cooler this week, so we didn't go out much (plus Hayden was sick a few days...), but when we did of course the kids just love it.  Now-a-days whenever the front door is opened Hayden is halfway down the street before you can blink!  Also Kylie is trying to expand her boundaries by learning to climb fences.

Hayden just loves to follow Kylie around and do whatever she is doing.  It gets kinda hard when Kylie is being possessive of everything, but usually Hayden can roll with the punches.

One afternoon the kids spontaneously washed the window for me.  That was nice!!

Hayden just loves to help now.  He loves to empty the dishwasher, take his dirty diaper outside to the pail, and throw things away.  You have to watch him on that last one, though.  After being throwing away the item you asked him to throw away, he loves doing it so much that he will start throwing away everything on the floor.

Kylie's favorite thing to do right now is paint her nails.  She can paint them 3 or 4 times a day!  Luckily the nail polish she has is very translucent so you can hardly tell they are painted. That is probably why she does it so much...

On Friday we had a little family night.  We went out to eat and Hayden got his first taste of Root Beer! He didn't like it too much.

Then we went to Fiesta Fun and played the arcade.  Kylie is actually really good at some things and ended up winning over 100 of our tickets! We will have to go there again!

Playing All Day Long

Well Kylie has survived two weeks in Sunbeams!!  The first week she cried when I left, but her teachers said she calmed down pretty quick and was fine.  Brandon peeked in at her during singing time and said she was so cute doing the movements to "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes".  I am now counting down the months until I can put Hayden in Nursery!!  (4 1/2 months!!).

Church has been wearing her out and she takes naps afterwards now!  Yes!

Hayden has been the cutest little dancer.  Whenever a song comes on that he likes he just jumps up and moves his feet super fast and dances in a circle.  It is adorable and makes me laugh every time!!

On Monday Kylie was patient enough to let me do a little braid in her hair!  I was so excited to do something new with it!  I have been trying to get her bangs to grow out, but now I am seriously considering trimming them because  her hair grows pretty slow and they are always in her face.  But I don't know if I trust myself to cut her hair, plus I don't know if she would sit still long enough for me to even try!

On Tuesday the kids went off and had fun at Fiesta Fun with Brandon while I got some dental work done.  They liked sitting in all the little arcade rides.

Wednesday we had our friends Angela and Sophia over to play for a while.  Kylie and Sophia are so cute together.  For a while there Kylie would do everything Sophia was doing and it was just so funny!

Later that afternoon we went outside to play.  And it was WARM!!  We didn't even need jackets!!  So awesome!  We played with our neighbor friend Brighton and they all had fun in the dirt.  Of course.  My kids love the dirt...

Friday Kylie found a piece of foam and proceeded to rip it all up and then Hayden joined in the fun.  They had a little too much fun, and afterwards I had Kylie clean it up and Hayden helped me vacuum.

Well Kylie is saying more sentences now, which is nice!  She can also now pronounce "water" with the "t" in it, so other people besides me know what she is saying now!  She loves to work in her letter book and read her "Look and Find" books.

Hayden has started shaking his head "no" when we doesn't want something.  I love that because now whenever I am asking him what he wants he no longer takes whatever is in my hand and throws it down because he doesn't want it, he just shakes his head "no"!  He also discovered the water fountain at church today.  We spent about 20 minutes there while he tried to get a drink and dunk his pacifier.

A New Year!

We had a busy week full of boring things.  Lots of cleaning and errand running trying to get everything settled after our trip.  Plus it was super cold so we couldn't do anything outside.  Luckily we have lots of new things to do thanks to Christmas.  Kylie is having trouble sharing, though.  While most of the toys are actually Hayden's, Kylie doesn't realize anything beyond "mine".  So it's been kinda rough getting her to share.  She also will take all the toys and hoard them away so Hayden can't play with them.  Sigh... it's aggravating!

Hayden has been relatively easy to deal with when it comes to Kylie taking all his toys.  He does have a slight cold right now, with a very runny nose, so that hasn't been very fun.  His new favorite thing to do is help empty the dishwasher.  I remember when Kylie first started doing that!  He is so cute when he tries to help!

I finally got an ABC book made for Kylie this past week.  It's just a normal Preschool workbook in sheet protectors so she can use a dry-erase marker on it over and over.  We have been doing one or two letters a day while Hayden is sleeping.  She really likes working in it and doing something fun together!

On Friday I took the kids to Jumpin' Jacks to play, since we have been cooped up in the house all week.  It was Hayden's first time and it took him a while to warm up to it, but once he got the hang of it he really enjoyed it!

Kylie had fun running around playing with the other kids.  She managed to go down one slide by herself fine, but after that every time she climbed up to a slide she would freak out and not come down.  She would just sit up there and cry and cry and I'd have to go rescue her (which was hard because I am a little too tall for these things, plus I couldn't just leave Hayden alone at the bottom.)  So after she pulled that stunt twice we left.

Ah kids are so exciting and certainly keep me on my toes!  Well, here is to a new year and lots of growing for these little two monsters!  Today will be Kylie's first day as a Sunbeam, and I am excited to see how that goes!
